Is it simply a meter? If so, it is possible that
it might have been part of a battery charger.
"Anfang, mitte, and ende" are "start, middle,
and end." Seems reasonable that it might
be used to indicate state of charge.

I found a cool German meter at the Newington fest today - an aircraft
looking thing, called "Vorratsgeber Stellug", with markings "Anfang",
"Mitte" and "Ende".
Apparently a "Supply Giver Position" meter (according to Babelfish).
What use might this be? Battery Charger?
