[Milsurplus] Advice needed from Australian group members

I have the opportunity to get an Australphone (Z1/ZAA0520)  military
transceiver. The catch is that it is in Tasmania.
As the set weighs 27 kilos, and parcel post is good for 20 kilos only, if
anyone is familiar with the set, is it possible to disassemble some parts
which would make up 7 kilos? If the power supply weighs 7 kilos, we'd be
able to do this with no effort. Bear in mind that the present owner is not
electronically inclined...
I used BAX Global previously to ship a Kingsley AR7 from Oz to the US, and
the price was very reasonable. The problem is that there is no BAX Global
station in Tasmania - the nearest one is in Melbourne.

Any ideas?
(I'd really like to get that Australphone....)
