[Milsurplus] bc-348 on ebay

It's a "hammed up" BC-348. The front panel is very nicely finished, the
black wrinkle rack panels were available from a number of vendors years ago.
I also see a non-original variable cap (next to the dial dimmer rheostat),
which may have been put in as an antenna trimmer.
If the lettering is engraved, it's possible to do it with an engraving tool
set and letter templates. Many prototype instrument panels were made that
way, and some home builders either had access to the tools or had someone
engrave the panel. The AC power supply is of course not original and looks
home built. BC-348's didn't have an AC version, like the BC-312 which was
the BC-342 when issued with the AC supply.
I don't see any nomenclature plate screw holes or inspection stamps, so this
is another clue that the front panel is not "Government Issue" or even
modified for an airline.
I have a number of original BC-348's which were used in civilian aircraft.
They are all unmodified and have stickers from the maintenance facilities,
with maintenance/inspection and/or overhaul dates.

My 2 cents' worth...
