Hi John,
I know what you are experiencing. My nice looking CD-1086 makes
interesting crackling sounds if I bend it. I think age has caught up with
the inner wire insulation and am expecting to have to replace the wire. I
guess the designers weren't too concerned with possible use after 50 years.
At least I have nice looking connectors to re-use :-) Does anyone know of
an appropriate cable part number from Belden, etc.? I suppose in the
ultimate I can make one "aircraft style" with individual wires and lace
them.

Does anyone have a GOOD CD-1086 cable for the GRC-9 (From the DY-88 to the
GRC-9) for sale. I bought one a while ago from Roy at "milradio.com" but
it
was rotten inside, and several conductors were open. I told him, and got a
sympathetic "yeah, that happens" message back.
