Hmm, even though it's a superhet, not regen, I wonder if that explains why the
BC-342 is built the way it is.  E.G. Lots of shielding and two RF amplifiers
before the mixer?  I know it was more or less "fixed station" rather than
shipboard, but I suppose that it could be anticipated that it might see sea
duty.
