Jeff,

Take a look at the 5902.  Data is at

This sub-mini is rated at a surprisingly high 4.1 watts max. plate
dissipation.  It uses an indirectly heated (6.3 v) cathode.

This tube was used in the audio output stage of the USN's RCA-made
AN/SRR-11/12/13 and AN/FRR-21/22/23 receivers.  I wouldn't think it would be
too hard to find.
