Amen.  They have no business using them in court, either.

I had a very bad experiance with a lie detector test in the early 80s.
I had to take one as part of a job interview.
I told that man I was nervious about the thing because of
what I'd read about it.  I told him the 100% truth on everything
he asked.  He told my prospective employer that some of my
answers were "suspect."  I still got the job,
but I'll be damned if I ever submit to another one.
In fact, I turned down a great opportunity in 1995 to go
work in a *very* fasinating place just because they require
a lie detector test every six months.  I'd be the one
that got the detector guy who was mad at his wife
and was just looking for little bobbles on the cursed thing.
I then be fired and black-listed for something I hadn't done.
Broke my heart, but I turned them down.
I'm *still* mad about that.
