David, I am a "righty" and I think it is terrible, also.
The vanguard of the "throwaway society" is seemingly
oblivious to the fact that they will also be "throwaway!"

And it's all such a great injustice.
I hate to sound like a lefty, but the whole idea is immoral.
Using up so much energy and raw materials to produce
something like a mobile radio or pagers
(or plastic dinnerware, or the 57th "Barbie" doll our kids
don't need, or the very latest "Sharper Image" gizmo etc. etc.)
and then throwing them in the dump the first time they "hiccup;"
it's a symptom of a larger, general problem of
not caring about what a "throw away" society means.
How many people understand that such a system leads to
high demand for critical materials, high demand means
high prices and high prices means most of the people
on the planet have to do without even the simple
things that such resources could bring them.
And then we just toss it in the trash.
It's a shameful sin in my book.
