I don't know what research libraries exist in your area, but I suspect
that modifications which were that well done must have been advertised in
appropriate periodicals of the time.  I would not be surprised to also
find advertisements in 'Western Radio Amateur" which was published
somewhere on the Pacific Coast back then, and covered a lot of stuff
besides ham radios.  I no longer have any of those old magazines, but I
would hope some archive somewhere still caters to historical researchers
by holding those types of publications.
