Hi Jack,

The 12A6 is a slightly derated 12-volt version of the 6K6 
power pentode.  The heater is rated at 12.6V 150mA.  This 
makes it a good series-string match for small-signal 
receiving tubes, like the 12SR7 in the ARC-5, when operated 
from 28 volts.  The hypothetical 12K6 would have a 200mA heater.
