Contract # might be one govt. used in buying things like this from hams, etc.
in early '42.

Just read about buy-in process in "Green Books - The Test" on Army Airways 
radios.  P281.  Buy-in loot went to Dayton for "militarization."  I 
have a S20R with orange SC stamps all over it - a probable remnant.

BTW, Army Airways is where most all BC779s went - explains mystery of their
assignment since not p/o a "SCR."  32RAs went to AACS to back up 2.5kw HF
Wilcox txs, the user of all the 450THs once in surplus.  But apparrently not
many since rarely (*) seen.

Other 779s went into the eavesdropping biz too
