[Milsurplus] BC-156...what is this thing? How "rare"...?

This was one of the standard Army field portable sets in the 1930s,
the BC-148, BC-151 and BC-(mumble I forget, 171 I think).
You see between two and three a year offered on Ebay.
I'd call that "uncommon," but not quite "rare."
They saw WWII service in training maneuvers, for sure,
but don't know if it was ever issued overseas
beyond those captured in the P.I.
