If you have ever seen some old Radio mag photos of Army guys using a radio
with a large rectangular loop antenna built right on the radio, and powered by
a guy cranking a generator, this is a similar set, but built for external wire antenna
only.
I think the circuit is 3 x 30, autodyne (not regen) receiver, receiver detector
always oscillates, and single type 10 in power-oscillator, free running. CW only,
of course. Someone made off with the key, which was mounted on the front. 
Reason i know some of these details is, i have one.  These of course were pretty
old fashioned even in 1941, by that time they were used only in a training role,
and i think also farmed out to the Philippine national army, under control of
US Army at this time.  Pretty interesting rig, i think. The meter has an armored
face so only the narrow slit of the current scale shows.
