[Milsurplus] help on watkins johnson gear

I have a lot of WJ/CEI/ASTRO stuff with the following observation (I don't
own any of the small modules) IF of these is either 21.4, 60 or 160 Mhz
(sometimes others) depending on frequency. VHF usually 21.4 UHF 60/160.
The xtal is the local osc (I would guess) and would add or subtract from the
IF. Maybe an overtone, so your module may be 39.48+/-21.4 or 39.48+/-60 or
39.48xmult+/-160....etc.

Does the connector have a coax connector built in? If so, this is usually
the IF out, RF being a separate connector - or perhaps 2 coax connectors. I
think the hot ticket is to get a std WJ type rack mount that has all of the
power, AGC, detectors, IF modules, etc built in. These go for anywhere
between $50 to $200 depending on who's bidding. Try kmec on ebay. Big
seller of WJ stuff - also a good guy to talk to.

Good luck!
