That's the nice thing about the JAN "USQ" nomenclature.  No three letter
combination in the JAN system is more vague, non-specific, broad,
uninfomative, or gives one less information about set purpose than "USQ."

I have a R-1561/USQ-42 that operates around 165 MHz on 40 channels.  It's
the size of an AN/PRC-77, uses the same battery, and was evidently a
Vietnam-era battlefield sensor receiver.

Your unit was likely used for some function something completely unrelated.
