I was wondering if the GRC-106 is the same radio (AN/GRC-106) that was
developed for the U.S.
Army in the 60's at General Dynamics, Electronic Division located at
Rochester, N.Y. I attended "factory training" on that unit plus some MD
xxxx that was used for RTTY. I am sure that it was manufactured by several
manufacturers after it was developed.

I remember a turret type tuned amplifier that had a 5 wire open seeking
circuit interfaced with the transceiver for positioning the turret.

A neat rig. Probably cost the government far more than $15,000!!
