Howie & Group,

I had to think a minute to recall how FSK got into a thread on the CNR-23442,
which as Barry said is marked on its nameplate "For General Radio Use". And
then I remembered it was a tangent taken because of the Contractor, Northern
Radio. From equipment we've all seen (but almost all of it from the 50's and
60's), they mostly made what we would probably today call electronic data
related equipment (MODEMS's), for both radio and telephone systems. So it follows
that since one of the cosmetic companies (Helena Rubenstein?) made
R-390A/URR's, that R-390A's must all smell good. :-)

The keying speed referred to is manual morse. I'm also puzzled by the
reference to the TBW, although besides the gasoline powered 800 Hz generator there
was also an M-G set with both 25 and 60 Hz motors.
