MRCG NINTH ANNUAL MEET

The ninth annual meeting of the Military Radio Collectors Group (MRCG) will be held at the NCO Club, Camp San Louis Obispo, CA, 30 April and 1 May 2004.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ This year?s event will formally begin at 0700 Friday morning, but early arrivals are welcome Thursday afternoon (29 April) as in previous years.

Secured areas for equipmentï¿½operation and display will be available inside the Club and there is ample room on the surrounding grounds and RV park to accommodate out of doors activities. Suggested operating frequencies are 3870, 3885 and 7293 kHz for AM, 3996 and 7296 kHz for USB and 29.6 and 51.0 mHz for FM.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ The use of 146.52 is recommended for simplex operation.

TO DRIVE ON THE BASE, AUTO REGISTRATION, PROOF OF INSURANCE AND PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION MUST BE SHOWN AT THE FRONT GATE!

Friday Program
--------------------
ï¿½ Friday will be devoted to equipment setup and display, operating events, technical presentations and informal get-togethers on the Museum grounds.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Special activities will include seventy-five (3885) and six meter (51.0) fox hunts and equipment display judging.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½

Saturday
------------
ï¿½ The swap meet will be held Saturday morning 0730 - 1100.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ One or more technical sessions may be scheduled between 0900 - 1100, and a bar-B-Q lunch will be served 1100 - 1200.

A business meeting will be convened at 1300.

Final tear down and clean up will take place 1500ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ - 1800.

Food and Drink

ï¿½ The charge for the Saturday BBQ lunch will be (TBD) and meal tickets will be available Friday and Saturday at the site.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Soft drinks and coffee will be available in the Club throughout the meet.

Caution: Participants are reminded that alcohol and beer are not allowed as part of ourï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ meeting.

ï¿½ A wide selection of commercial lodging choices are available in theï¿½area, see <http://www.slochamber.org/>.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Billeting on a space available basis is available at the camp for $18/person/night. There is also an RV park adjacent to the Club. Hookups are available for $12 (full) and $10 (electricity and water only) per night.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ RV and billeting reservations willï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ be accepted NO MORE THAN 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE, call (805)594-6500.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½

Finances

ï¿½ There are no admission charges for this event but to meet expenses, a ?fair share? contribution of ($5 - $7, TBD) is requested from each participant.
