Mike and Group,

Excellent points. Things show up on eBay from non-radio type sellers who in
previous decades wouldn't have known what to do with them. Sure, QST, ARC,
ER, etc. often have ads for mil components at bargain prices because the ham
selling them still thinks they are only worth the $10-$15 that they sold for in
the 40's through 60's (and couldn't be given away in the 70's and 80's). But
most eBay sellers never even heard of any of those magazines. In decades past,
the items would for sure have gone to landfills (and did). If they sell for
more than some think that they "ought" to be worth, so what. Without eBay,
they wouldn't have been offered for sale at any price.

Just in the past two months, I've acquired (and for that matter learned the
nomeclature of since the manual doesn't say) the BX-41 spares box for the
PE-125 and 135-AX. Plus an NOS BX-53-A for my otherwise complete SCR-694-C to put
in place of the stack of post-war NOS BX-53-D's that were all I had been able
to dredge up in previous decades. Now if I could just find a US made GY-11
and a P-19 to replace the stolen ones, my SCR-284 would once again be complete.
And I'd be happy (at least for a few days). :-) If anyone sees either, feel
free to let me know.
