Bob,

In my experience, none in particular. My experience with the TCS and other
military sets of the era is that in 80% of the sets, bad capacitors are found
at random if at all. In 5% all are bad. And in the remaining 15% all of one
specific type are bad and any other bad ones fall in the random group. For
example, in a BC-1306 receiver that I overhauled, all of the .01's were bad and
nothing else. In a BC-312 I'm currently working on, all of the canned triple
.05's were bad (and for mechanical reasons as much as cosmetic, I removed the
cans and rebuilt them with .047's from Fair Radio), and I found two others bad
of different types. My TCS-14 still has all of its original capacitors. A
friend in Alabama has several TCS receivers and transmitters and I've sent him
replacement originals several times, but never the same one and some because a
previous owner had removed the original and not replaced it with anything.
