I kind of like the radio, even if it is a bit of junk. There were a lot of
accessories procured for the things, but so few (any?) saw service, that
most are found in perfect condition. You can't complain about that!

I do, but it is missing right now. For some reason everything after TEA
has gone somewhere. Anyway, I recall being suprised by a somewhat late
date for TED (1950something).

TED was renamed AN/URC-7, I think.

And mostly hated by nearly everyone becuase of poor performance. RED and
TED seems to be the exceptions. RDR and MAR just didn't do well. TDZ
should have been scrapped before it shipped. RDZ, a fairly nice radio,
often gets smeared by the TDZs reputation.
