OK -- that makes sense as the original suffix would have been the letter
code designating the manufacturer -- like Q, M, etc.-- and they probably
wouldn't have bothered to have an assortment of letter coded depot tags or a
blank spot and punch the letters. At the same time, some may have been 312
to 342 conversions, I guess.
