Hmmm.  I've seen depot overhauled and modified equipment before but it always 
had either the later letter (or number for Navy sets as in for example an 
LM-18 turned into an LM-21) or a suffix "M" as in for example most BC-603 and 
BC-604.  I've only ever seen the nameplate end of one transmitter with the CDA-T 
mod but it had the T-412/ART-13B nameplate like the manuals indicate it 
should.  But I can't argue with visual sightings.  :-)

FWIW, from the several photos I saw, I don't see anything unusual about the 
BC-342.  It hasn't, for example, been modified into an R-336.
