Well the RBM and RBS aren't the same.
The RBM was a "portable" set, the RBS was a shipboard
set. Even thought the receiver chassis were pretty much the same,
the mountings, accessories, and usage were different.
The term RBM refers to the entire set. The chest, dynamotors,
batteries, control box, cables and all the little goodies. Most
of us only have the receiver part of the RBM.
But, tell someone you need a CAY-46077 or T-47A, they are
going to look at you blankly and say "huh, whazzat?". But say
RBM or ART-13, and they know what you're talking about.
Agreed, though, there are a lot of incosistencies and
confusing areas in this military nomenclature game.
