A observation from now having worked on the receiver is that the
receiver has to be tuned to the transmitters frequency, sounds simple
but may not be. the receivers bandwidth is only about 2 MHZ and being 4
or 5 MHZ away would affect sensitivity in a big way, having not seen the
instructions would speculate that you would tune the receiver for
maximum display but with no reflections or failure to boresight the unit
on a calibrated range this would be very difficult. the sensitivity of
the receiver is very good, but if it is off by 5 MHZ it would be
decreased by about 10 Db and 10 MHZ is at least 20 Db. One turn of the
receiver tuning crank is about 4 MHZ.
