[Milsurplus] Oddball question

Yes, Jack, RA followed by 8 digits was a valid Army serial number.  
RA was for enlisted Regular Army.  It was used in WWII and was still 
in use when I joined the Army in 1959.  As I recall, nlisted draftees 
had US + 8 digits.
