That has also often been done to BC-1000 units.  There's lots of room in the gutted case for a mobile CB unit.   It's a shame what some will do to create the toys for being play-pretend soldiers.

Maybe I should gut my BC-14-A (SCR-54) 1918 crystal set and reenact WWI.  At least U.S. "civil war" reenactors don't have cause to destroy radio artifacts for their hobby.
