The "designator" is simply what the original "converter"
labeled his handiwork. I think it shows his sense of humor.
To this day, most hams are more concerned with utility
(usefullness) of equipment than configuration.
Once you have paid for something, it is YOURS. Nobody
else has any valid say in what you do to or with it as long
as it is not against the law.
