Yes, two 24 TPI hacksaw blades side by side are about the right width.  If 
I'm doing several, I usually use an end mill.  And for Cannon/Aero K-Series (as 
for the ARB and ATB) a ball mill.

There may have been brown or tan inserts earlier, although they may have been 
phenolic like Cannon used in the K-Series for many years.  I was just going 
through a couple of cubic feet of AN connectors and although most are black 
(Amphenol) or tan (Cannon), I did spot one Amphenol with a blue insert.  So 
Amphenol was shifting insert materials before the AN became the MS.  Or maybe as I 
think I mentioned earlier it got assembled during the transition.  The problem 
with the photos in the vintage catalogs is that most are black and white.  If 
someone could come up with the first MIL-C-5015, that would be informative.
