[Milsurplus] Racal TRA-931 Syncal 30 battery info needed

I foolishly thought the NiCad cells in the TRA-931 Syncal 30 were "D" size, 
so I disposed of the old ones without measuring them or counting how many. 
Guess who is surprised now? "D" cells do not fit. Does anyone know the 
exact size of the cell? And the number of them in series? I'd like to get 
the Syncal 30 on the air since bench tests prove it is working fine.

Also, does anyone know where I might find a Syncal 30 battery box? I have a 
Racal VHF backpack that needs one.

I have yet to make my first HF contact. Anyone near Boston?
