Yes.

Outside of contests, FB with today's low CW population.  Also great
for a AM luddite too.  I like 'playing' mine in that mode with sound
of a acft radial - lest we forget.

Long thread exchanged on souping one up with later-generation pentoads
like 6SG7, 6AC7, etc.  Cut-off characteristics & considerations of
their use exposed some good stuff - about tube making.

But I turned up a ringer in that the 1st RF Amp of final -J, -N, -Q
productions  is actually degenerative.   this I bet because the gain of
the 'single-ended' tubes like 6SK7 were greater than progenitors like 
6K7.  In fact I offered 10 6J6s to the 1st who refututed that.

Instead, perhaps on a new thread on using a 6SB7Y converter to reduce
intermod might be neat
