GE, all

Just a couple of quick questions....

Ok, first, I have recently obtained a BC-348Q (Wells Gardner) which, as
in most cases has been "modified" by person or persons unknown to
operate on 115VAC...... However, said person or persons removed several
items, and since there was an earlier thread concerning various BC-348's
and the possibility of someone parting some out, I have a request...
I require the AVC/MGC switch knob, and the chassis hardware to replace
this switch (note, the "modifier" replaced this with a pilot lamp and a
toggle switch. I will get into more detail once I have all pulled
apart, but I do believe that the switch has been permanently removed. I
also need both
the antenna and ground posts, as said modifier put a SO-238 on the rear
to take a standard coaz connector... I also need both of the headphone
jacks, and the input connector, as I wish to restore same to the
dynamotor supply..... If anyone is parting out units, please let me
know, either off list or on list, as I am in need of these parts... More
to follow, of course, when I get into the nitty gritty of the
"improvements" --hi--.

OK, second, I have also recently required an BC-221T freq
meter/standard. No real butchery here, just a query.... Now, the power
requirements are no problem for a bench, as I have a power supply to
handle the B+ and the filament A+ voltages with no problem... I do
however, at some point, wish to power this from batteries, as
original.... Newark Electronics has the 22.5 V batts, as well as 1.5V
batts, but there is no clear substitution designation...... Since the
only thing that matters is size, I was wondering if anyone knows the
dimensions of the BA-2 batt (22.5VDC, 6 required)
and the BA-23 (1.5VDC, 4 required). Since batteries of the voltages
needed are available, but the numbers do not cross ref, and the new
battery dimensions are metric, I wonder if anyone can help me out with
the sizes and connector configuration of the original battery (ies) so
that I can make a substitution..........Once I have the dimensions of
the original, I can then see if the modern batteries are the same size
and configuration so I can fire the unit up as it was origianally designed.

Ok, more wish list items, I am in need of a power input plug for an
R-392 reciever. I have one, NOS, which I got from Fair when I bought my
first, but I have since acquired a second reciever, and Fair is not
selling the plugs, both because they can't get a supply, and what they
do have, they are selling in conjunction with the recievers...... If
anyone has a plug excess to their needs, I would appreciate knowing
about same, and you may contact me on or off list.....

That's about it for now, don't want to put too much in one message--hi--..
