Hi,
When I was about 7yrs old I got to sit in the right seat of a Grumman Goose flying from Nassau to Harbor Island in the Bahamas.I sat in the passenger section on the flight back.Takeoff was wild as we bounced along. My father thought the whole airplane would come apart at the seams!I recall water seeping around the rivets.
Don't know what radios were on board but I'll bet they had dynamotors!
Jay

Ah, the memories!!!
Among the most prized pages in my old log book are some dual instruction received
in various Grumman amphibs...Widgeon, Goose, and Duck. Sorry now that I didn't
get a civilian Multiengine seaplane rating on my civvy license...rarer than hen's
teeth. :)
