I saw in 'Military Trader' magazine for Dec. 2003, a photo created by reenactors in recent
times. This photo shows a winter scene, a GI with a mine detector out in front of a
Sherman tank. You would be unable to distinguish the magazine photo from a period
original, altho the recent photo, if you had it in hand, i'm pretty sure would look newer,
or the uniforms would look too new, or too perfect, or something. But- my question is:
the mine detector has a square loop antenna. The actual WW2 US Army mine detector
set ( SCR-625, i think ), had a round search antenna. So what type is this in the photo,
and is this a realistic portrayal?
