I fixed my R-1004 by using the external battery cable for the GRC-9 =
receiver section. It has the correct plug with the exception that the =
original R-1004 connector is right-angled and this one is a straight =
connector. I might have a spare battery cable laying around should you =
not find one closer to home.

I had a similar power plug problem. I managed to fabricate a substitute =
from one of the three-pin 45 volt battery connectors used in BC-221 =
series frequency meters. I drilled the plastic and added a fourth pin =
stolen from another of the BC-221 battery plugs.
