[Milsurplus] Cable lacing

I used with success readily available waxed twine available in some hobby
shops which cater to leather craft. Waxed twine is used for sewing heavy
leather. It's strong and works just like the original. Although this twine
is round, a lot of lacing I saw is done with the round cord.

Well, mostly. But I (and I'm sure others) have seen lacing jobs in both
commercial and military equipment where round cord was used. I would agree
the
flat stuff would be preferable and it's what we always used in the
Government
lab where I worked back when.
