    I have the same book out back, the communist huks (NPA now) were pretty
active against even US folks during WWII...as mentioned in "American
Guerilla", as well as another similar book I will dig for. Some Illicano
friends worked with the underground during WWII and still at their late age
hate the Japanese. One family, Ganaden, helped the Marcos clan stay ahead of
the Japanese with daily moves. Phillipinos are tough fighting bastards..they
dropped Magellan...a Portagee who had been at sea for three years.
Personally ....nothing but respect.
