Just to add a comment.... As Hue stated, the TDE was used on DE's, which is true, but
also most of the LST's also had a TDE as their primary MF/HF transmitter with the TCS
as the backup transmitter  All of the LST-1 class ships used the TDE.  Many of the LST's
also had a TBS mounted on the bridge for use when in convoy.
