Hi all

I was just wondering if the acronym TBS (talk between ships) is related to the actual
radio set designated TBS.  Or did the acronym refer to any radio set being used for
close range intership communication?

Also, what was the relationship between the TBS set and MBF set, which have the same frequency
range.
If the TBS was intended for ship board use, was the MBF intended for shore use, or another
use altogether?
