Hue, Dave, & Group,
As Dave said, the legs for the BC-474-A are shorter than the LG-13's and have
no swivel foot. Having said that, however, the un-numbered BC-474 legs, the
LG-13 and the LG-3 are all the same at the top. I never even thought about
the similarity until someone recently wanted to buy a bunch of LG-3's (which I
didn't have unfortunately - they've become as hard to find as LG-13's) to use
on BC-654's. So I checked one, and this morning also tried one of the BC-474
legs, and all three fit the BC-654 just fine. The lengths are all different,
of course.
There is a good photo of the bag for the BC-474 and accessories in TM 11-250
and Change 2 TM 11-250 that between them show the details of the front and
right and left sides fairly well. No rear or bottom view. The radio slides into
the bag right or left end first, with either the front or rear of the radio
to the front of the bag. There is a vertical pocket on the front for the four
legs. This pocket is closed by the top cover of the bag, which when closed is
secured to the front of the bag with two straps. There are pockets on the
left and right side of the bag for the two headsets, and for the microphone and
key respectively. These have flaps secured by a single strap. There is a
carrying strap that appears to be attached above the side pockets, but I can't
tell from the photos whether it is a single over the shoulder strap, as was
supplied for the BC-654, or a pair of back-pack straps as found on BG-173.
I don't have anything on BG-137 either. However, if you've found one and it
looks like what I've described, then I'd apply the "if the shoe fits" rule.
It wouldn't be the only case where nomenclature got assigned after the manuals
were printed and they never got updated.
