[Milsurplus] KWM-1 a spy radio?

OK, I guess my email on those thread didn't get thru.  So, here goes.

Definitely not a myth.  During ,my career at Lockheed, we installed
KWM-2 and -2 radios in Lockheed C-130 "Rivet" airplanes.  Some of
the radios ran off the aircraft 28 VDC power and some ran off its
115 VAC 400 Hz power.

It wasn't unusual that 1 or more of the crew would be ham radio 
licensees and use the radios for ham stuff while in transit to and
from an operational mission area.  Once on station, of course, all
ham activity stopped and the radios were dedicated to the mission.
