R W Koch's statement that Motorola built these, is based
on the fact that he obtained his manual from Motorola,
when he inquired with them. He says they declined to
supply any other information. ( Maybe this would be
something to pursue today - more time has passed to
move this whole era into the "historic past". I do not
know how he knew to approach Motorola, maybe someone
in his military contacts knew that.
Yes, i am aware of the other attribution, that GTE built
the RS-6 in Mass. The Motorola manual source would
seem to trump that.

BTW, i noted that the PRC-1 uses an 807 in the transmitter,
while the Army's TRC-10, practically the same radio, maybe
rarer, uses a 2E22 in the final. I thought that choice of final
tube was a little strange, i suppose it makes for faster T/R
changeover, as the 2E22 is fast-heating, but as a filamentary
type tube (as opposed to heater-cathode), it hums pretty
good when using the AC power supply.
