[Milsurplus] Oddest "Command Set Conversion"

I previously had seen some pretty odd command set conversions. The one
where the transmitter is shortened down to about 4 inches long is one seen
often enuff that it doesn't shock any more. Then there was the one that had
the transistor heat sinks on top. I think it had a built in inverter supply. I should
have bought that one just for the uniqueness.
But at a hamfest the other day, i bought an SCR-274N transmitter that had been
converted into an oscilloscope. It kinda resembles the 'Waterman Pocketscope'
of years ago. This certainly was one of the conversions that starts with "Step 1:
remove ALL the components from the chassis." In this case, a new front panel
was made. The CRT stretches from front to back, must be a 3AP1 or such. Has
built in AC supply of course, very smart. I thought it might be interesting to plug
it in, photograph it with a sine wave on the CRT, and use the photo in a new
book, "Military Surplus Extreme Conversion Manual".
BTW, the selling price reflected the market's regard for 'extreme conversions'.
