Dear Robert and group:
I had a lucky find at the Woodson Bridge MVCC military vehicles meet last
week in northern California.
This control is marked:
Type CACS-23398 Remote Control Unit
for use with Model TCS Radio Equip.
Navy Department - Bureau of Ships
Contractor - Lyon and Healy, Inc.
Contract number NXsr-39551 and there is a four digit serial number.
This unit has jacks for the mic and phones and two connectors for some kind
of wire. It also has a cap and internals for 3 "D" size batteries. It is
Navy/Marine Corps green with yellow markings and the contract seems correct for
W.W.II time period.
I'm thinking if this is a remote there must also be a unit back at the radio
jeep for the two wires to connect to either the jeep's remote or the TX and RX.
So, any chance someone has the other piece of equipment, wire, what the wire
was strung out with, the manual or knowledge of where I can get this
information?
Can this in fact be operated in conjunction with my WWII Navy Radio Jeep
using the TCS?
Photos of the control and schematic inside the back cover availble on request.
Regards,
Mark Tombleson
