A while back I had asked about the CH-294. In searching through
Chesson's great lists, I had found that the chest was part of the
SCR-543. Chesson also listed, as part of the SCR-543, the BC-312. At
the time I was working on a BC-342 and was kind of hoping that this chest
was for that series of receivers. Alas, this does not seem to be the
case for that case! This just confirms that copy errors are to be
expected, even in "official" documents. Getting the facts straight is
one of the many reasons I enjoy this list so much. The wisdom that is
shared here is greatly appreciated.
On another note, the Belton, TX fest seemed to have quite a few (well, a
bunch more then in years past) military boatanchors. Lots to choose from
but didn't see anything I didn't already have at least one of. Traded a
Viking TX for two R-388s, one a nearly complete chassis, the other is
just barely recognizable as a -388. Met William Donzelli, who else from
this list made it?
Regards from Arkansas,
Jim
