Erm ... How many flavors of ARC-3 transmitters were there? WHen I was 
in the Silverware Patrol[1], back in 1960-64, I worked on an ARC-3 TX
that was being junked out from Ellington AFB. It used an 829 or 829B
as final, and was VHF.

[1]	Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the USAF; does lots of 
    SAR, responsible for me getting my Novice ticket way back when.
