Hello,
I have played with these sets a lot in past.If i recall correctly =
all of my usable substitute filters came from the 618-T series sets.I =
have parted out surplused ARC-58 receivers and don't recall the correct =
filter being in them, however possibly my memory is failing me.
One mod that I did to provide selectable sideband was to mount both =
filters below the chassis and switch between them using tiny crystal can =
relays. This was easy to do. I just pulled tiny coax cable thru unused =
holes in IF module connector and had to leave module in place from then =
on.
All of the parts needed for mod can be obtained from the 618-T IF =
unit : The filter hold down hardware, the crystal can relays, etc.
As stated the F-500-Z4 is the correct filter for LSB operation of =
PRC-47.I wanted both as when operating CW I used the USB position.
Thanks, Byron WA5THJ.
