[Milsurplus] How to sell rare stuff

Rare is as rare does. The only way to determine market value for
infrequently traded items is with an open, no reserve, low opening bid,
auctio, without the buy-it-now option. Period. If you don't care about
getting market price, then make up a price and offer it on the NGs. You'll
get lots of emails ragging you about "...how overpriced your piece of junk
is, and why not sell it to me for $10...."

I buy and sell on the NGs and on ebay both. When I advertise something on
ebay to the NGs, I offer a 15% discount to NG members. Makes up for using
the NG bandwidth, and has an element of "fairness" about it. I offer things
to the NG when they ae "commodity" items with enough buying and selling to
set a consistent price.

Your milage may vary..
