Actually, it would be easier to make the modified connectors the same way
that Amphenol did. Get the standard connectors, salvage some of the larger
contacts from another AN connector that uses them, go to your handy milling machine
or good quality drill press, and modify the appropriate holes in the two
inserts so that you can install the larger contacts.
Easier than that would be to order the modified connectors (looks like I have
two left, which is how I happen to know how they were made).
Simplest would be to just order the cable. :-) I've had a good stock of
them since the mid 90's and have mentioned them a few times on Boatanchors and
Milsurplus. Shipped one earlier this month in fact. The ones I have are marked
CD-515-B but they will work with any model BC-669 and PE-110, except that as
they (and the -A and -C) have right angle connectors on both ends, they can't
be physically connected if the power supply and radio are in the -D model
chests. Price is $40.00 plus shipping. Condition is NOSB.
On a somewhat related subject, I have an empty steel spare parts box marked
for the PE-108-E generator. The contents went to another collector who put
them into the empty PE-108-D spares box that he already had. And I have the
manuals on the A....C and the D, the former of which I'm about to reprint for
another collector. Have a few of the other connectors used with the set but no m
ore cables. And have some of the wooden storage boxes for the RM-21-A...C.
And a BC-669-A. I think that's all that I have left for the SCR-543.
