The only other thing besides contractor (CCI) to be gleaned from 242A is in 
the Remarks - Purpose column where in addition to CC (crystal control) - 
4-Channel it says:

MO       Marine Corps
MO-1    Shore - Marine Corps
MO-2     BueAer
MAK      Shore - Marine Corps

I would take Shore to probably include beach landings.  Beyond that, I've 
never even seen a photo of one but note that it could talk to TCS, which were 
installed in some landing craft.  Also MAB, but that is listed as Paratroops.
